HOW FINE DOES FOG REALLY HAVE TO BE?

When we talk about the size of fog droplets, what are we actually talking about? First of all, we speak in terms of microns, this unit is as big as one thousandth of a millimetre.

Besides creating the right spray pattern, it is important that the spray pattern remains consistent. Our nozzles are of high quality and are produced in-house. Reldair offers the smallest drop size in Europe.

Drop size

With the revolutionary FP series by Reldair, you save water and therefore energy. In addition, the FP nozzle consists of only one part, which makes changing over to this new nozzle and mounting it very easy.

Fan

Due to an excessively high PH value, iron or lime, crystal particles can stick to the inside of the nozzle. This affects the spray pattern. Thanks to Reldair’s patented technology, this is a thing of the past.

Reldair has various systems in its range, which can be divided into two lines. The Horti-line systems are suitable for greenhouse horticulture. With these systems, the emphasis is mainly on the continuity of maintaining the air humidity in indoor climates. The Industry-line systems are suitable for the industrial sector. Both lines consist of two systems each. Which system is best suited for your situation depends on various factors. We will, of course, be pleased to advise you on the best solution.

1. The R-120 system
This is the tried and tested 120 BAR system that has been praised for years for its fine and even mist, which is spread very evenly and does not fall on the products.

2. The R-100 system
This system is a 100 BAR system, as high in quality as the R-120 system, but it is simpler in construction and has a slightly coarser drop.

STAINLESS STEEL NOZZLES FOR UNIFORM MIST

Water quality differs enormously per region and country. Moreover, different types of water are used alongside each other in (greenhouse) horticulture and industry. These all have different pH values (acidity). Crystals could sometimes adhere to the inside of the nozzle due to a too high pH value, iron and lime, which in turn could affect the spray pattern. The patented FP nozzle that Reldair produces minimises this problem. It can effortlessly handle any water quality. The spray pattern remains consistent, the drop size remains the same (on average 5 microns) and the risk of damage to products due to wetting is thus eliminated. We give a 5-year guarantee on the drop size. In addition, this nozzle is energy-saving. Less water is used to achieve the same effect, namely optimum cooling and humidification of products. The FP nozzle is interchangeable within the Rairair range and easy to install. The nozzle consists of only one component, which also makes maintenance very easy.

The Reldair systems have a completely assembled hydraulic hose, which is assembled and pressed in our own workshop. All parts used are of European manufacture and meet the highest quality standards and various internationally recognised quality marks including:span,

PUMP SET WITH TANK

By using an integrated water tank, unused water is reused. The pump is protected against dry running and legionella protection can be applied. The pump set can be equipped with a tank and/or with a frequency control, UV disinfection, PH control and/or pre-filtration as required. Depending on the chosen misting system, the pump system provides an operating pressure of 100 or 120 bar. The system is CE-marked, legionella-free ex works and customised for your application.

FANS & MISTING

For decades, Reldair systems have been a reliable application to greatly reduce weight loss in seed potatoes (such as potatoes), vegetables and fruit. With potatoes, for example, the amount of pressure spots can even be reduced to as much as 50%, which ensures a better yield and therefore a better price. The system is activated when the measured relative humidity drops below 95% and thus the vapour pressure between the product and the ambient air becomes too great. The air flow from the fans is provided with extra moisture by specially made nozzles. This air flow, humidified in the pressure line, is then blown into the room. It is the extremely fine fog with a drop size of 10 microns that produces the best distribution. Fog fans are the ideal solution for open spaces to ensure the best efficiency for air flow and cooling. The two integrated systems, ventilation and fogging, work together for the optimum result!

EXCELLENT WATER QUALITY

In order to guarantee the operation of the system, the quality of the outgoing water must be constantly maintained at the correct level. This includes water softeners, filtration and legionella control. Reldair supplies all the equipment needed for this and can make the required calculations for the desired water softening.

If you use hard tap water, we recommend a water softener. The water softener prevents lime from forming in the pipes, which extends the life of the appliance.

ASSEMBLY, MAINTENANCE & OPERATION

In addition to supplying the systems and products, Reldair can, if required, provide quick and high-quality installation and maintenance work (on the pumps). Maintenance consists of checking the oil level and water filter and regular maintenance as is usual for plunger pumps. This keeps our systems up to date and allows them to run smoothly for years. We are also happy to think along with you about extensions to your current system.

The operation of both lines is generally similar and quite simple. The computer or a humidity sensor measures the humidity in a room and compares this measurement with the set value. Via a storage vessel with water and microfilter, a pump ensures a constant pressure. As a result, very small droplets are formed. These droplets are almost weightless and remain suspended like mist until they evaporate. The evaporation energy also causes a drop in temperature.
